The Lee group has interests in advancing spatial metabolomics using mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) technology with matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI). Most recent interests include on-tissue chemical derivation (OTCD) to improve analytical sensitivity and in vivo isotope labeling to trace metabolic activities in plant systems. We are also interested in its forensic applications to determine fingerprint age and develop a rapid antibiotic resistance susceptibility test.

Raw MS imaging data for most of our previous publications are now available at METASPACE (https://metaspace2020.eu/), MS imaging data repository and web-based metabolite annotation tool for high-mass resolution data at EMBL.

Please note that not all data are available as it requires <3ppm mass accuracy while our previous instrument has mass accuracy <5ppm. We tried our best to re-calibrate with a few known peaks in the dataset, which did not always result in success.
Most data are from maize root, leaf, stem, and seeds.
